The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM)
The Fairmined Standard for Gold and Associated Precious Metals to support the sustainable development of artisanal and small-scale mining communities was initially developed in partnership with the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) and Fairtrade in 2009, however since 2013 it has been developed by ARM. The standard seeks to support the sustainable development of artisanal and small-scale mining organisations. It includes progressive requirements for mining organisations to operate formally and legally, and requirements for environmental protection, improved labour rights, better working conditions, traceability and socio-economic development. The latter is achieved through the Fairmined Premium for mined materials.
Standards and Regulations can apply to specific countries. Below are all the countries the Fairmined Standard applies or could be applied to. You can click on a country to view its profile on our CAHRA site.
