Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA)
The Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) is a multi-stakeholder body created to meet global demand for more socially and environmentally responsible mining.
IRMA has drafted a Standard for Responsible Mineral Processing (the “IRMA Mineral Processing Standard”), which specifies performance requirements for environmentally and socially responsible practices during mineral processing.
The Standard serves as the basis for a global voluntary system offering independent third-party review and certification of environmental and social performance at smelters, refineries and other operations involved in the processing of minerals and metals from ores and concentrates.
Standards and Regulations can apply to specific countries. Below are all the countries the IRMA Draft Responsible Mining and Mineral Processing 2.0 applies or could be applied to. You can click on a country to view its profile on our CAHRA site.
