International Council for Mining & Metals (ICMM)
The ICMM is an international industry membership organisation dedicated to a safe, fair, and sustainable mining and metals industry.
In 2003, ICMM published its 10 Principles for sustainable development to set a standard of ethical performance for its members. In early April 2018, ICMM launched a global public consultation on the introduction of a comprehensive set of performance expectations on how members should be expected to manage a broad range of sustainability issues to enhance these original 10 Principles. The performance expectations cover topics including sustainable development, and ensuring support for local communities, societies, and ecosystems that are dependent upon, and affected by, the mining and metals industry.
Standards and Regulations can apply to specific countries. Below are all the countries the ICMM Mining Principles: Performance Expectations and Position Statements applies or could be applied to. You can click on a country to view its profile on our CAHRA site.
